Debunking the ridge filler rumor

Maybe you haven't heard this rumor but I definitely had:

"You can use Ridge Filler Basecoat as a matte top coat!"

This is Ridge Filler

L to R: Ridge Filler, Matte Top coat, Ridge Filler, Out the door top coat.

To me, putting ridge filler on your nails looks like you put
Elmer's Glue on your nails. barfatronic.

But, you be the judge.

  1. Maybe a different ridge filler? I am not sure. I think I would pass and just get a matte top coat they aren't much more... You're completely right about the Elmers Glue lol.

  2. I think it depends on the ridge filler; some are more "milky" than others. I figure it's easier just to use matte top coat than experimenting. :)

  3. Maybe you're right, a different brand?
but, i mean ridge filler does give you an effect. but i wouldn't call it matte. haha...

  4. Just going to echo previous statements of 'try using a different brand'! I think the butter ridge filler is supposed to be a good alternative, although I wouldn't want to spend the $$ to experiment
