Anne by Julep

Just some quick pictures from my Instagram.
Here's my base color of Anne by Julep. It was super hard to get the color to photograph right, especially with a iphone camera. the picture above shows it without a top coat. i wanted to show you that it dries kinda like a neon. :)
Then I added ChG Marry a Millionare for some glitter, and then i tapped off sections
and added Barry M Crackle.

I wanted so badly to use Barry M Croc effects, but it just wasn't happening with the julep color. or maybe my timing was off as to when to put the croc top coat on.
Does anyone have any tips on how to tell when to put it on, especially when you're doing a two coater nail polish?

31 Day Nail Challenge: inspired by a song

Day 22: Inspired by a song. This is one of my favorite videos, and a really great song! i love all the bright colors shapes, and movement. Because of all the gradient in color i knew i wanted to use sponging. and because of all the crisp lines i knew i also needed to use tape.

What I used: Julep Cameron, Nabi Lavender, CC Red-ical Gypsy (har har), CC New Bohemian, Essence Chuck, Essence Mellow Yellow, Sally girl white.
Ring finger sorta looks like boba fett.

Silly me. i had ran out of tape...and things got... complicated.

But i made the most of it!

I think the pointer and pinky are my favorites.

I am totally and completely disappointed in myself on this one. :( i redid my middle finger about 6 times, and by the last time it was approaching 11 pm, and i was like "screw it!" Sorry. but... manicures shouldn't take 5 hours. (there was a trip to Target (Bubble wrap!) somewhere in there, but i know that only took half hour.)

PAA Moday Nail Art - Candy!

This Monday's Theme was candy inspired. I wanted do something not too obvious, so i asked my sister what her favorite candies were for some ideas. she said she liked Peanut Butter Bars, and we happened to have some in the house, so that's what i went with! It was pretty easy, except for that star... D:

I used Juelp - Olivia, China Glaze - Knotty, and Essence - Mellow Yellow

So all in all, it's not beautiful, but possibly cute. and i had fun, and...
that's what i'm all about.
What's your favorite candy? and how on earth would you translate it to nail art?
(mine is chocolate turtles...soo...haha)

BT-DUB, i know i said i was going to do the 31 day nail challenge, but then.. then i bought 7 new polishes, and i really want to try them all. So i'll start that back up once i've swatched them all. :D

THANKS FOR READING !!!!!! rainbows! hearts! glitter! unicorns!

Julep Maven box

I'm sure by now everyone has heard of Juelp, and their Maven program.
I signed up aug 12th and received by box aug 18th.

So here's my Julep box!
this is a bag, in a box. I got the "american beauty" style.

3 polishes (8 mL each), two samples, and a full bottle of hand scrub, works really well!

From L- R
Alfre, a silver/purple/metalic, and Cameron, what i consider to be the perfect pink!
Also the third one is a conditioning base coat called Nail Therapy,
I'm super excited about the base coat, I needed it!
(before you become a maven, you take a style quiz and it asks you the condition of you nails and hands, that's how they decide what to send)

I've already used the base coat several times, and it goes on very well, dries fast.
I used the pink, Cameron, and it goes on just as nice as my Butter London polish.

The box is a $40 value, normally you pay $19 per month, and it's delivered to your door. I used a special coupon and got all this for $4.99 including shipping.
Even if you only want to try it once it's a great deal!
Here's the coupon i used (smh9oxu), hopefully it still works for you. :D

P.S. I'm told you can cancel at anytime, but i haven't been able to find that on their site, any help?
