PLAID!

Here's a quick photo of what i did for this weeks PAA monday challenge. 
I used Essie Turquoise and Cacos as the base color (which is like painting with water color btw, it's a 3 coater FOR SURE.)
The lines are made from two way nail art pen/brushes. i used the brush ends, and did each line of each color on each nail, and then picked a different color, and repeated. that way it got that cool weaved look.

PAA Moday Nail Art - Rockstar!

When i heard this week's theme was "rockstar" i was excited and an idea popped right into my cute little head: glitter. lots of glitter. pink! with black, shiny shiny black!

Here's what i used: Milani Disco Lights, Wnw Tangled in my web, SH Black Out, L.A. Colors Art Deco black nail art brush.

Index finger: tape covered the pink glitter, black painted over top

middle finger: free hand black stripes painted over pink glitter.

Ring finger: pink glitter over black.
(this is the glitter i used on the rest of my nails, so i had to build it up(4ish coats) to be opaque.
not looking forward to taking that off!

Pinky finger: solid 4 coats of pink glitter, with 1 coat TIMW on top!

TA DA! i love the way it turned out. I haven't been this pleased with an idea in a while.

my favorite nail is probably the index finger. i hope to do a whole set like that soon.

PAA Moday Nail Art - Candy!

This Monday's Theme was candy inspired. I wanted do something not too obvious, so i asked my sister what her favorite candies were for some ideas. she said she liked Peanut Butter Bars, and we happened to have some in the house, so that's what i went with! It was pretty easy, except for that star... D:

I used Juelp - Olivia, China Glaze - Knotty, and Essence - Mellow Yellow

So all in all, it's not beautiful, but possibly cute. and i had fun, and...
that's what i'm all about. 

What's your favorite candy? and how on earth would you translate it to nail art?
(mine is chocolate turtles...soo...haha)

BT-DUB, i know i said i was going to do the 31 day nail challenge, but then.. then i bought 7 new polishes, and i really want to try them all. So i'll start that back up once i've swatched them all. :D

Purple Gradient + Stamping!

This weeks PAA monday nail art challenge was "creative layering". I started out thinking, "glitter sandwich!!!" but after a few test nails, it was clear that just wasn't going to happen for me. at least not happen and look good. 


So here's what i came up with, a gradient, starting with Barry M Berry Ice Cream. (one of my all time favorite colors btw) then using the sponging technique i added a layer of some random mid range purple and finished it all off with a layer of Sally Hensen 08 Deep Purple.
Then I did a little stamping with konad  plate m57.
My nails were looking very layered, and I just couldn't stand to have a gradient, leopard print stamping, and super glossy nails... so i matteified? mattyfied? MATTIEFIED it!
i love the results! (and i don't even like leopard print O_o)

Berry Ice Cream

white dots from the matte topcoat, eventually went away

index finger is an odd shape due to a freak x-acto knife accident at work...

i really love that purple....<3
