31 Day Challenge: Glitter!

Day 17: Glitter! oh boy! right before is started taking pics for this i let out a maniacal laugh. something like this... bwahahah.... oh geez. i don't know what i was thinking. Martha Stewart craft glitter... oh yes...

What i used: Revlon Starry Pink, KleanColor Pastel Pink, and yes, Martha Stewart large hex craft glitter.

whammy! this is so silly.

The reason i did glitter day in pink is because this weeks PAA Monday challenge is pink nails for breast cancer awareness month. two birds, one stone.

this glitter is nuts! i actually bought it to franken with but.. it all sank to the bottom.
I figured it would be easier to just put them on top myself.

i layered starry pink over pastel pink just so it wouldn't take so many coats to be opaque, and to make it a little pinker, because starry pink is sorta grey/purple.

well, was this enough glitter for you? i showed them to my dad and he said,
"why didn't you do them all like that?" @_@

31 day challenge: Blue

Day 5: Blue Nails! Now we're talking! I picked up Big Smoke at Ulta's buy one get one free sale on Butter London polishes, so i was dying to try it out.
I also picked up Revlon's Blue Mosaic at Target a few weeks ago, and hadn't tried it either. So what do you get when you combine two new, untried polishes?
Glitter gradient extravaganzaaaaa!!!

What i used: Big Smoke and Blue mosaic.
I think blue mosaic looks a lot like Gone Gonzo from OPI's Muppets collection.
not a dupe by any means but a close enough for me not to need both.
i love the green hex glitter in Blue Mosaic, it reminds me a little bit of DL Across the Universe.

I achieved this look by first painting all my nails with Big Smoke.
Then i painted about 1/3 down my nail with Blue Mosaic.

Next i turned the brush sideways, and patted on the thinner lines going down the nail.

Finally, I went back over the tips with more blue mosaic, to make sure they were very well covered.

I really do like making the glitter gradients. It's even more fun if you sponge on a shimery polish that has some micro glitter in it. yum!

Have you ever done a glitter gradient? what color/glitter did you use. link me!

Revlon - Facets of Fuchsia

Hello Again! I searched high and low (okay i went to two Targets) for this polish! and i finally found it! FoF is a wonderful black jelly polish with Fuchsia hex glitter, and smaller little glitters too. Some people just put it over a black base, but i built this one up, about 2 regular coats. it could use one more coat if you really want to make sure you didn't miss any spots. This is my first ever Revlon polish and i had no issues with it! it was good purchase!

Index finger is nubbin' it... oh well..

 Glare ... No glare

This weeks purchases! i'm excited to use each and every one of these :]
What'd you buy this week?
