Fashion inspiration to the max

Hello! I've had a bunch of fashion inspiration pics saved in my 'liked' section on pintrest for a while and finally decided to give one a try. i can not tell you who made the dress or anything about it, because it links back to a trumblr, and that is the most confusion blog site i've ever been on.

I LOVE the colors, did my best to pick some matching colors out of my polish collection.

Those triangles were a doozy!

fun stuff! not my best stuff, but it's always fun to try something different.
i'm always tempted to just do a half moon or paint some leopards on my nails, but these new outline or framed nails are a fun challenge!

pretty little purple thing

I had a little fun the other day with stamping and some tape. Yes i have a bunch of new stamping plates, and yes i used the very first one i ever got that everyone uses, Konad m57. a classic? sure, why not.

Base coas of Orly Charged Up, the perfect purple jelly :)

but wait, what's that over Charged Up, it's CND Sapphire Sparkle, ooh ahhh!!

Okay then I taped off my sections, slapped on some black nail polish,
and then stamped my little heart out.

You don't really need to know this, but for the sake of good blogging i will tell you that i was inspired by a certain item from victoria secret to do these patterns/colors together. there. i said it. please tell me you've done this before too!

PS. after i did my nails i realized i was out of acetone. so i went to buy some, and the store was all out. so this here is what you get when that happens. sorry for the mess!

PPS i'm selling some nail polish, among other things on ebay, check it out. fund my summer vacation.

Anne by Julep

Just some quick pictures from my Instagram.
Here's my base color of Anne by Julep. It was super hard to get the color to photograph right, especially with a iphone camera. the picture above shows it without a top coat. i wanted to show you that it dries kinda like a neon. :)
Then I added ChG Marry a Millionare for some glitter, and then i tapped off sections
and added Barry M Crackle.

I wanted so badly to use Barry M Croc effects, but it just wasn't happening with the julep color. or maybe my timing was off as to when to put the croc top coat on.
Does anyone have any tips on how to tell when to put it on, especially when you're doing a two coater nail polish?

Happy New Years Nails! aka Human Disco Ball

Per Tara T. [On PAA] I set out to be a human disco ball. Here are the results of my madness, which will actually take me longer to get off than it did to put on.

I used SH Black Out and a Cosmetic Arts unnamed glitter that is a dupe, or probably the exact same formula, just a different bottle, FOR Color Club Platinum Record.

Hope you have/had a safe and fun New Years! Hello 2012!

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by a book

Day 24: Inspired by a book. Today's challenge was interesting! I couldn't decide if i wanted to pick a random book that would make a cool mani. or pick my actual favorite book and hope a version of the cover would be awesome. I went with the latter. The Endless Steppe is one of my all time favorite books. Here's how i was inspired by the book...!

What I Used: LA colors art deco black, Catrice ASHley, Essence Chuck, Sally Girl White

I used a matte top coat to make everything dull. like a book!

 I really like this eye.

I was trying out a new clean up brush and took a giant chunk out of the side of my thumb. sad times.

The challenge is almost over, only a few days left! I'm having a Nail Party again on Saturday. Any fun ideas for me and the girls to try/do/eat/drink??? :D

31 Day Challenge: Half Moon

Day 18: Half Moon. Half moon was the first 'nail art' I ever attempted, (see here!) so it sorta has a special place in my polish-lovin' heart. As does the color purple, Butter London, and, well, glitter. Also I haven't even used No More Waity Katie since i bought it long ago at the BOGO sale. so finally... i broke out the big guns. (i don't know why i just said that. possibly because my husband and i were watching Sons Of Guns earlier tonight...) like i was saying, what you are about to see combines 4 of my favorite polish possibilities!

What I used: Butter LONDON No More Waity Katie, SH Black Out
So this is one layer of NMWK over Black Out. The color may seem darker than how NMWK normally looks layered over itself.

What a beautiful polish!!!

Look at my poor nubins thumb. i rammed something under it the other day and it hurts to do clean up around it. pure acetone going under the nail... open would... skeeksecch!!!!

You guys, this half moon mani makes me so happy inside, i don't want to take it off tomorrow!!! D: I WANT THE WORLD TO SEE!!!!

Thanks for reading! I'm doing galaxy nails tomorrow. (yay, i get to compare my old galaxy to the new ones!)

Skeleton man!

Just a quick post about this Halloween mani did starring Mr. skeleton!
What i used: white nail art pen, SH Black Out, OPI Grape.. Set.. Match

Base of Black Out with GSM sponged  on the tips/ends.

happy little skeletor.

31 day challenge: Flowers

Day 14: Flowers! Well i've made it to day 14, two weeks! I had two options for flowers, freehand or konad stamp. i only have one plate with a flower on it, so i decided to try freehand.
What I used: Sally Hansen Black Out, Kleancolor Pastel Pink,
Orly Flirty, Sinful Colors Happy Ending.

Since I have never done freehand flowers before I used  Rebecca Likes Nails tutorial which was great to go by, i highly recomend!

I did a black background so it would have the 90's floral print dress look
(that is sadly back in style, oh my)

90's it up!

Hi Orly!

close up!

These were really fun to do! even though i don't have the BEST nail art brushes
(i have old art brushes i found laying around my house) i made it work, and it turned out just fine!

i would love to try them a little bigger so you can really tell what they are from a far, instead of looking like weird, pink jelly bean polka dots...right?

Thanks for reading, readers! <333

PS. I'll be posting my next giveaway later today. here's a hint...
On The Prowl, and glow in the dark!!!

31 day challenge: Black and White

Day 7: i feel like i'm counting a prison sentence. and speaking of prison jumpsuits, black and white was today's color scheme.
What i used: Sally girl white, SH Black Out,
L.A. Colors Art Deco black and white nail art brush.

These remind me of the Black and White cookies, from that Seinfeld episode.

If i had done these in green and white, they could have
looked like cheerleading uniforms...sorta.

Yay for black and white! i feed so mod.

Thanks for reading, and for going on this 31 day, soul searching, nail journey with me.
haha! oh my! just kidding!

have a good day!
